Textbooks
BOOKSTORE
I use a lot of materials and different textbooks at my lessons. Some my students prefer to use the files that I share with them, but with some I use a textbook as a base for our lessons. There a lot of Russian textbooks, but I haven’t found an ideal one so far. My choice of a textbook depends on a student as well. For example, some need good Grammar analysis, others get bored with it pretty quick.
Usually my main textbook is Live from Moscow, or its newer edition Live from Russia. The book consists of a textbook (with DVD) and a workbook (with CDs). There are Live from Moscow Stage 1, Volume 1 and 2 and Stage 2: Welcome back (it’s intermediate level). I have Workbook keys, so you can check yourself after having finished an assignment, also I give a test after each unit.
With intermediate students I use either Stage 2: Welcome back or «Говорите по-русски» С.А. Хавронина and for advanced students I use «Давайте говорить по-русски» О.И. Глазунова as main textbooks.
Besides, I use other course books, such as:
For beginners
Хавронина С.А. Русский язык.
Essentials of Russian by A.V. Gronocka
Russian. A Self-Teaching Guide by Kathryn Szczepanska
Начало.
Ключ.
Овсиенко Ю.Г. Русский язык для начинающих.
For intermediate
Говорим по-русски без переводчика.
Здравствуйте.
Intermediate Russian: A Grammar and Workbook by John Murray and Sarah Smyth
Colloquial Russian.
Шаг за шагом.
Учимся говорить по-русски. С.Р. Омельченко
For advanced
Перспектива.
Continuing with Russian by Charles E. Townsend
And others.
I also use some grammar and lexicology books, for those who are particularly interested in Russian phonetics there are couple books I use:
Introductory Russian Phonetic-Grammar course by T.V. Shustikova
How to pronounce Russian correctly
